Commenting on a Record

Even though the primary purpose of Data Archive is having access to view legacy system records, there are times when including comments or attachments may provide value.

You must have Write or Admin permission for comments to add comments that include attachments to individual records in Data Archive.

To add a comment and attachment:

Click the Comment  button. The Add Comment page opens and the Comments pane opens.

Type information in the Comment field.

Click the Select Attachment button to add an attachment to the comment, or drag and drop the attachment onto the Add Comment page.

Click Save

Saved comments display comment date & time, user who authored the comment, attachment name if an attachment was included, preview of text from the comment, and, optionally, a Read More link if there is more text in the comment than can be shown in the preview.

Depending on user permissions, Delete and Edit icons display on the comment card.

Comments can be sorted in the Comments pane from the Sort by list by selecting Comment date/time, User, Attachment, or Comment in ascending or descending order.


Only one side panel can display on the detail record at a time: Either the Contents view or the Comments view. You can optionally get more horizontal screen space, if needed, by collapsing the Data Archive menu using the menu button in the upper left of the application page.
